What do I need to bring to a notary appointment?
A current, government-issued photo ID — such as a driver's license, state ID card, or passport — and the complete document, with no missing pages. If your document requires an oath (a jurat), wait to sign it until you're together with Carrie; she'll let you know exactly when to sign.
Do you travel to homes, offices, and hospitals?
Yes — that's the point of a mobile notary. Carrie comes to your home, your office, your attorney's conference room, or a hospital or care facility, day or night, by appointment. For hospital and care-facility signings, the signer must be awake, alert, and able to communicate their willingness to sign.
How much does a mobile notary cost?
California law caps the fee for each notarized signature at $15. Carrie is a mobile notary only — she doesn't maintain a walk-in office — so a travel fee applies to every appointment. It varies with location and time of day and is quoted upfront when you schedule, so there are no surprises at the table.
Can you notarize estate planning and trust documents?
Yes — living trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and deeds are Carrie's specialty, and she's patient with signing sessions that involve large document sets or multiple signers. One note: as a notary, Carrie verifies identity and witnesses signatures; she cannot provide legal advice or help you choose or prepare documents — that's a question for your attorney.
How far in advance should I schedule?
Call when you're ready — same-day and after-hours appointments are often available, and loan signings can usually be scheduled around your escrow timeline. For signings with multiple parties or a care facility involved, a day or two of notice helps everything go smoothly.
